Biography of Xiangyin Yang

Mr. Xiangyin Yang has been an associate professor with the Faculty of Humanities at Wenzhou University since 2009 and is the Director of the Institute of Oral History at Wenzhou University, he is also the Chief-Editor of The Oral History Studies (forthcoming), and the Vice-Secretary General of Chinese Oral History Association.

Mr. Yang earned a Ph.D. in history from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007 and has been working at Faculty of Humanities at Wenzhou University since that time. He has been actively involved in studying and promoting the oral history since 1999 when he was a sophomore student. His publications include Conversation with History: The Theory and Practice of Oral History (Beijing: China Social Sciences Press, 2004), Oral History (Taipei: Yang-Chih Book Co., Ltd., 2004), and a number of articles on oral history. He established The Institute of Oral History at Wenzhou University in 2008 and The Oral History Studies in 2014. The Oral History Studies is a serial annual publication in book format published by the Social Sciences Academic Press (China) in Chinese language. It serves as a forum for all scholars from a wide range of disciplines and practices who use oral history in their explorations of the past and present.
