The Orville M. "Robby" Robbins Scholarship
To honor Evergreen's Friend who past away December 9th, 2009
Orville M. "Robby" Robbins, 80, died Dec. 9 from complications of a traumatic brain injury he sustained in a fall while traveling in Dali, Yunnan Province, China, in July, following an Evergreen workshop. He was born in Depression Era Oklahoma in 1929. Following military service and graduate school, he had a distinguished 24-year teaching career at East Central University in Ada, OK, before moving to Madison, WI in 1991, where Louise, his wife of 43 years, teaches at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Robby and Louise always assisted each other in their endeavors, and Robby looked forward to travel in China, with which he fell in love. Robby believed in education and in the work of Evergreen. He was known for his smile and warmth and his concern for others.
He is survived by his son Patrick of Madison, his son Gregory and daughter-in-law Maura of Chicago, and two grandchildren, Cole and Harper Robbins, who were the light of his life. He is survived also by his brothers Ward and Leon, his sister Clara, and a beloved sister-in law, Maxine (Ralph), and two half-siblings Lloyd Robbins and Linda Robbins Mallard, and their families. His parents, his sister Virginia and brother Ralph preceded him in death

Ju Ting Zhang (id#09020105). Ju Ting was born in August 1994 and is going to school in Tianzhu, Gansu Province. Both her parents had elementary school education and are farmers. There are 3 daughters in the family and all are doing well, two are going to high school and the eldest girl attending university in Szechuan. Ju Ting was #7 in her class of 53 and will be attending first year of senior high school in the Fall of 2009. Her best grades are in Math and foreign language.
