Who Should Attend

If you are an educator or librarian interested in sharing what ways of using information technology has worked for you with your counterparts halfway around the world, this conference is for you.

By bringing together educators from various academic disciplines, this conference will facilitate the exchange of how school libraries have been used effectively assisting teachers and students use information technology in the classrooms and beyond from both sides of the Pacific Ocean.

If you have a success story to share, an idea to present, and research findings to report, we welcome you to consider contributing a paper/presentation.

We welcome contributions from those in information technology industry involved in serving education

 

 Types of Contributions

  • Papers & Reports. Contributions in this category may be empirical research, theoretical analysis, discussion on policy and infrastructure, course/curriculum design, and project/program reports.
  • Teaching/Courseware Demonstration. Contributions in this category may be demonstration of instructional techniques and/or courseware in any subject fields. Each teaching demo will be paired in presentation with one from the other side of the Pacific Ocean, in the same discipline, whenever possible.

Conference Topic

The conference will cover a broad range of topics on the use and relevancy of information technology in education. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: 

  • The role of the librarian in assisting student learning using IT
  • The role of the librarian in assisting educators build curriculum and teaching modules using IT
  • The role of the library in making available IT in education
  • Ethical issues in the use of IT in education
  • Assessment of implementation of IT in education
  • Integrating IT into Mathematics education
  • Integrating IT into the teaching of humanities and arts
  • Integrating IT into the teaching of business or business related subjects
  • Integrating IT into teaching English as a second language
  • Integrating IT into science education
  • Social concerns of the use of IT in education
  • Cultural differences and IT usage in education
